Rockford Chamber Announces Finalists for Business of Distinction Awards 2024

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the finalists for the Business of Distinction Awards for 2024. The Business of Distinction Awards highlight local businesses and leaders from the past year in the following categories: Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Networker of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year.

“The Rockford Chamber of Commerce reached a record of 455 Chamber members in 2024 which made this task especially challenging this year” states Megan Dean, Executive Director of the Rockford Chamber. “Our board of directors and ambassador team looked at a wide variety of criteria including engagement, attendance, and investment to narrow down the top candidates in each category and are proud to announce these finalists.”

Fellow Chamber members are welcome to cast their vote for Business of the Year and New Business of the Year here. Networker of the Year and Volunteer of the Year are based on numbers collected throughout the year.

The finalist for each award is as follows:

  • Business of the Year: BattleGR, Fido & Stitch (Rockford), Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, and United Bank of Michigan
  • New Business of the Year: Boochie Bar, Communicare Michigan, Get It Done Guy Handyman Services, and Prime Focus Real Estate Photography.
  • Networker of the Year: Andrea Nucci (MK Builds), Matt Bachicha and Teresa Schissler-Boichot (Boichot Insurance)
  • Volunteer of the Year: Mackenzie Woodward (ChoiceOne Bank), Diane Druckenmiller (Druckenmiller Painting), and Caitlin Russo (ChoiceOne Bank)

Winners for each category will be awarded at the RCC Annual Meeting of the Membership in January. More details regarding this event will be posted soon at www.rockfordmichamber.com

I ntroducing the Rockford Local Insider: "Dam Good Deals" For years, our Welcome Bags have been a staple for introducing new faces to the incredible businesses that make Rockford so special. But as our community grows, we want to make sure your marketing dollars are working harder, reaching further, and landing directly in the hands of the people who need you most. That’s why this fall, we are retiring the Welcome Bags and launching an exciting, high-visibility pilot program: the Rockford Local Insider: "Dam Good Deals" booklet! Whether someone is moving into a new neighborhood or just spending a beautiful weekend exploring our downtown, this handy, pocket-sized guide will be their ultimate roadmap to shopping, dining, and playing local. Why the Switch? While Welcome Bags were great, they had limitations. A booklet is highly scannable, easy for residents to keep in their cars or on the kitchen counter, and puts all of Rockford's best offerings in one sleek, organized place. For the pilot launch this fall, we are printing and distributing 1,500 copies across high-traffic community hubs, Welcome centers, and directly to new residents. It’s a direct line to an audience that is actively looking to explore and build new local habits. Choose Your Strategy: Ads vs. Coupons We’ve kept participation simple and incredibly affordable. For just $125 , you can choose the exact type of visibility that fits your current business goals: Option A: Full-Color Ad Best For: Brand awareness, sharing your story, and visual impact Single-sided, eye-catching full color Option B: Black & White Coupon Best For: Driving immediate foot traffic and tracking direct ROI. Double-sided, high-contrast black & white. Space is Limited for the Pilot: To ensure the booklet remains a curated, high-quality guide for our residents and visitors, space is strictly limited for this initial fall run!
