Join us for Rockford's 56th Annual Start of Summer Celebration held June 5-8, 2025 in downtown Rockford! This year we will have a carnival, food vendors, crafters, live entertainment, children's activities, a parade, fireworks, and so much more!

FAQ's
How much are carnival tickets & where do you buy them?
All wristbands and tickets are available at the carnival only! No pre-sale of tickets is available.
Thursday - $25 wristbands (5-10pm)
Friday or Saturday - $30 wristbands (12-10pm)
Sunday - $30 wristbands (12-5pm)
What hours does the shuttle run?
Friday, 5-11pm
Saturday, 10am-11pm
Park at Family Fare Rockford or City Church Rockford, and be dropped off in downtown Rockford near Michigan Nature Co.
Where can we find handicap parking?
There are several handicap parking spaces located behind Glik's.
Fireworks - Where, when, and what to bring?
Fireworks will be launched at dusk (approximately 10:20pm) in Memorial Park. Spectators are able to bring blankets and chairs to watch the fireworks in the grassy area. Please clean up all trash before leaving the park at the end of the show.
Can I bring a RORA drink into the carnival area?
No, the area that the carnival is in is not within the social district area.
Is the event dog friendly?
Yes, dogs are able to attend the event but may not be allowed in select areas as determined by the hosts of that activity.
Is there an admission fee to attend the event?
The event is open to the public for free however, each activity has it's own costs (EX: carnival wristbands, beer tent)
